Update on Houses on Green Belt Land

We have been asked by Ashtead Community Vision to communicate the following:

The Green Belt Boundary Review was the first part of a major planning review being undertaken in Ashtead for inclusion in MVDC’s review..  The second part and just as important is the assessment of the ten Ashtead sites put forward by owners for possible development.

The Forum has agreed that the Site Assessments should be put for Public Consultation and that is now underway. They cover issues including access, travel, landscape, contribution to the Green Belt, heritage and biodiversity.

The assessments are available online at www.ashteadcommunityvision.org.uk and in hard copy at the library. Your comments are sought and these can be made via an online survey accessible from the website or on paper at the Open Morning, 10am to midday, Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Saturday 29th March.

The consultation period ends on April 6th 2014.

Mole Valley councillors will have the final say in deciding which, if any, Ashtead sites are included in their draft Housing and Traveller Sites Plan, to be issued towards the end of 2014. This is Ashtead residents’ opportunity to ensure that they do so in full knowledge of the community’s views.
